Pumpkin Play Date

During every season, there are certain items that I can never resist in buying. In the fall, pumpkins are one of them. Apparently, Els can’t either. (Resist them that is.) Every time we walk pass them, she needs them – for something or other. As do I…

Today, we decided to have a pumpkin play date.  Fun right?

I gathered up some glitter glue sticks, sticker gems and miscellaneous Halloween colored beads (leftovers from our bead/string favors), ribbons and mini erasers. Gotta use those mini erasers Els had to have somehow.

Just raided the craft supplies. And the Target dollar aisle, of course.

One medium sized pumpkin. One tiny pumpkin.

Oh, and I pulled out a couple of small mason jars from the cupboard, some gauze and googly eyes to try out the mummy jars I’ve been seeing all over Pinterest. And a LED candle to put inside. Purple, of course.

Same amount on each tray. So there would be no bickering, no fighting and no mess on the table. And can’t forget the snacks snacks snacks.

Hard at work.

Lots of gloppy glitter glue.

The mummy jars were a cinch. And they worked out okay, considering I had to scrounge up some googly eyes last minute, pulling them off old art work… Reuse, recycle right? We skipped the mod podge step and just wrapped gauze around the jar and used scotch tape at the end to secure.

Finished product. Hehe. I helped with the gauze, but Els put on the eyes herself.

So cute. And yay, we made use out of those tiny useless erasers!

Good times all around.

Oh, I’m going to miss fall…
